Beautiful Oceans was born from a passion for diving and snorkeling, a desire to share knowledge and a will to preserve coral reef ecosystems for future generations.

For the founder of Beautiful Oceans, a vital link between diving, snorkeling and marine conservation was missing-the opportunity for divers to learn about coral reefs, while directly benefiting the ecosystem that they explore. Beautiful Oceans creates this link through  state-of-the-art educational coral reef products, online coral reef treasure hunts and unique dive products available to dive operators and tropical travel destinations. Beautiful Oceans  is part of the international environmental network 1% For The Planet (www.onepercentfortheplanet.org) and donates 10% of its profits to projects of marine conservation.

Stephan Becker, President CEO & founder

In 2002, preoccupied by worldwide environmental destruction and the lack of global corporate environmental and social responsibility, Stephan quit his career as an eMarketing professionnal to invest in the establishment of a corporate preservation framework for the natural marine environment. In 2003, a stay as the expedition leader on the Filipino marine base of the international organization Coral Cay Conservation (www.coralcay.org) allowed him to draft the first outlines of the company's coral reef conservation model. Beautiful Oceans was incorporated in 2005 and became operational in 2006.

"In the end, we will conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, we will understand only what we are taught" (Baba Dioum). For Stephan, engaging the genral public in a fun way to learn more about the beautiful intricacies related to marine ecosystems, their fauna and their flora represents an essential element in achieving the difficult task of coral reef conservation. He founded Beautiful Oceans to achieve this mandate.
